HTML Meta Tags

Meta tags are used to add some invisible words to your pages that the visitors cannot see them. Meta tags introduce your pages to search engines. They can find what this page is mainly about? Because of abusing from these tags, some search engines changed their search patterns to decrease virtual ranking of sites in their databases; so you should add them in correct format.
‘Keyword Meta Tags’ are place to add keywords that you believe your site are about them. Repeated words or words that aren’t pertained to your site are useless. Here is its structure:

In Notepad We Write
<head>
<meta name= ‘keywords’ content= ‘html, tutorial, free, krooge.com, simply, programming’/>
</head>

This is a sample Meta tag for ‘krooge.com’ site. Part ‘name’ defines the type of Meta tag that we want to use, and ‘content’ part is a place for putting details. The keywords in ‘content’ part must get separated by commas (,).
Another one is ‘Description Meta Tag’. A sentence or two about your website are wrote here. The sentences should contain keywords that you mentioned in ‘keywords Meta Tag’; otherwise your site might be blocked by some search engines. An example:

In Notepad We Write
<head>
<meta name=’description’ content= ‘krooge is about learning html programming simply.’/>
</head>

Last update of your site will come in ‘Revised Meta Tag’:

In Notepad We Write
<head>
<meta name=’revised’ content= ‘Lesson Eighteen 3/5/2016’/>
</head>

Suppose that you make a chat script. The page needs to get refreshed for example every 5 seconds. ‘Refresh Meta Tag’ is used for this purpose:

In Notepad We Write
<head>
<meta http-equiv=”refresh” content=”5; url=http://www.yousite.com/chat.php” />
</head>

Or you can redirect your page to another website by replacement in ‘url’ in the above example.
Infact the above meta tag is another kind Meta tags. This tag set extra information for your page, so search engines can find your page better. You can find another example of this kind below:

In Notepad We Write
<head>
<meta http-equiv=”Content-Language” content=”en-us”>
</head>

It specifies the page language. The language is come in ‘content’ part. Other examples are:

In Notepad We Write
<head>
<meta http-equiv =”content-type” content=”text/html; charset=UTF-8″>
// It set page character settings.
<meta http-equiv=”date” content=”Sat, 5 May 2016 22:34:13 GMT”>
// Page creation Date
<meta http-equiv=”expires” content=”Fri, 4 May 2016 22:34:13 GMT”>
// When the page is expired
</head>
